Townhouse, childcare centre site fetches $13.5m
A major south Melbourne site permit ready for 59 townhouses and a childcare centre sold on its second attempt.
The 2.2 hectare cleared parcel at 15 Sixth Avenue, also facing Wells Road, Chelsea Heights, collected $13.5 million, following a campaign launched September.
Vendor, Aultun Group, outlaid $9.13m for the then-unpermitted block in 2016.
It was represented for the sale by CBRE’s David Minty and Nathan Mufale.
Chelsea site set for development
The Chelsea Heights townhouses were promoted for their potential to be delivered in two stages (story continues below).
Thirty seven dwellings would be on a new road, Caledonia Avenue, off Wells Road.
The childcare centre would spread 1116 square metres offering 148 places and 33 car parks.
The property was also for sale last October via different agencies.
Chelsea Heights is about 30 kilometres from town.
