Mirvac Gets Ready to market Sixth Docklands Skyscraper

SYDNEY-based developer Mirvac will launch its sixth Docklands skyscraper, Yarra Point, in October.

Mirvac will adopt a design strategy used at its Tower 5 complex nearby, and the Melburnian, in St Kilda Road, by targeting top-end buyers with a high quality product.

This is reflected in the sale price, where one-bedroom flats are expected to be priced from $500,000.

The distinctive $200 million tower, 31-level tower will include 201 apartments in one, two and three bedroom configurations.

Yarra Point will include a rooftop garden, communal barbecue facilities and a gym atop a fifth level podium.

St Kilda’s Former Post Office Sells For $4.75 Million to Asian Apartment Developer

St Kilda Post OfficeST Kilda’s historic Post Office building, at the corner of St Kilda Road and Inkerman Street, has sold to an Asian developer for $4.75 million.

The 1,236 square metre site at 306 – 310 St Kilda Road, sold with a permit for a five-level, 40-unit serviced apartment building, with a ground floor restaurant to be built into the existing Post Office building.

The sale reflects a price of about $3,843 per square metre of land.

Ubertas Unveils $450 Million Mixed Use Building Opposite Flagstaff Gardens, Melbourne

PRIVATE developer Ubertas has revealed plans for a $450 million mixed-use tower opposite the Flagstaff Gardens, in the Melbourne CBD.

The Fender Katsalidis Architect designed tower planned for 350 William Street will rise 50-levels, and include 626 apartments, 20,900 square metres of office space, 940 square metres of ground floor retail. 460 car park bays and 185 bicycle parking spaces.

Half the apartments will be “studio” serviced apartments (ie, no separate bedroom) whereas the balance will be standard “own your own” apartments which may be lived in, or rented out as an investment.
