Stockland turns sod at Sydney apartment site
Stockland today turned the first sod, representing the start of construction, at a Sydney project marking its return to apartment development.
Stanton Place at Rosebery will contain 144 dwellings in three seven storey buildings around a 2000 square metre private garden with barbecue facilities.
A basement will contain 161 car parks.
Penned by Melbourne based Rothelowman, the project also contains a café tenancy.
A laneway will be developed into the 6237 sqm site, 5-15 Dunning Avenue, at the corner of Epsom Road and Mentmore Avenue.
Completion is scheduled in 2028.

“The sod turn is a celebration of the progress on Stanton Place and Stockland’s broader commitment to growing its apartments portfolio,” executive general manager, Apartments, Ben Christie, said.
“Stanton Place is an important milestone for Stockland as we continue to expand our apartments business and contribute to increasing housing supply in well-located urban areas,” he added.
“With more than 70 years of development expertise, we are focused on delivering high-quality homes that respond to changing lifestyles, increase housing supply and are well connected to transport, jobs and services,” according to the executive.
“Developments in well-located urban areas, like Stanton Place, play a vital role in urban renewal, helping revitalise established suburbs while creating vibrant, connected communities close to where people want to live”.
Stockland is also behind a 52-level residential proposal at 601 Pacific Highway, St Leonards.
