Stockland fills half of maiden multi-level distribution centre
Glassons has leased the second floor of Stockland’s first multi-level industrial investment, set to start construction in Sydney’s south.
The Australian and New Zealand headquartered clothing manufacturer and retailer is taking 7800 square metres within the double storey, 15,120 sqm Momenta complex at 2-8 Baker Street, Banksmeadow, for an initial six years.
The structure – replacing an ex-Smeg distribution centre – will be configured with a one-way side-lane, able to accommodate B-double trucks.
Floor slabs will be strengthened to handle six tonnes. Clearance is nine metres on the ground floor and 12.7m for the first level.
Each tenancy includes two storeys of offices. Occupiers will also have access to a rooftop terrace.
The 1.54 hectare block will contain car parking too. The landlord is also targeting a 5-star Green Star certification.
Stocklands’ Marcus Meadows with Colliers’ Michael Crombie and Trent Gallagher are the leasing agents.
Banksmeadow is 11 kilometres from town.
Smeg relocated to Stockland’s Ingleburn Logistics Park – 45 km south west of the CBD.
Glassons has its local headquarters and training centre at Botany.
