Sentinel signs three Mackay industrial leases

Thiess has leased 28-34 Gateway Drive (front).

Sentinel has secured three lease deals for warehouses developed speculatively at Paget, Mackay.

At 28-34 Gateway Drive, Thiess has signed up for a 6440 square metre property for a training and recruitment centre.

Bis has leased a Paget office/warehouse developed speculatively.

The holding includes 2190 sqm across two buildings.

The initial lease term is four years.

“The new hub demonstrates Thiess’ commitment to our communities and clients in the Bowen Basin,” Thiess general manager, Mining, Queensland, Vikesh Magain, said.

“It will enable us to better recruit and process new employees and train our people with a focus on preparing staff who are new to mining with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry,” he added.

Meanwhile, at 40 Gateway Dve, Sentinel has leased a 6449 sqm warehouse to resources logistics group Bis.

In a third deal, a heavy equipment group has committed to a three hectare property with 5080 sqm office/warehouse space (story continues below).

The Farrellys Road property (outlined) contains significant hardstand.

This lease involves 22 Gateway Dve, which the landlord developed speculatively, and 107 Farrellys Rd.

Sentinel’s James Tippelt brokered the deals.

Building rents are speculated at between $200-$200 per sqm ex outgoings and GST.

Paget is five kilometres south of Mackay.

Earlier this month Centuria outlaid $35.5m for another three hectare property investment in the suburb, part rented to Wesfarmers.
