Paul Hogan’s Byron Bay Mansion Back on the Market, After Backyard Sliced Off

A LUXURY Byron Bay mansion built by Australian actor Paul Hogan, has come back on the market, after its 132 hectare backyard was sliced and diced.

The owners of the property, Sydney socialisted Duncan and Sally Mount, are trying to sell the home for $8 million, after subdividing the backyard into two lots, of a respective 44 hectares, and 36 hectares. These blocks are also available for sale for about $2 million each.

The 8-bedroom, 10 bathroom home includes a 150,000 litre heated swimming pool, guest cottage and river frontage. The home, in the suburb of Possum Creek, some 15 kilometres west of central Byron Bay, was offloaded by Mr Hogan in 2006. At the time, property – known as Cedar Springs – set a new price record for the Byron area.
