Offshore developer swoops on Northbridge hotel

The complex set to replace Northbridge Hotel and Village.

SJD Group Australia has settled on the purchase of the Northbridge Hotel and Village – 15 months after it applied to replace the block with a five stoey apartment complex.

The 2428 square metre site, 57-69 Strathallen Avenue, set it back $52.5 million.

A project with up to 5160 sqm of area could be considered, Savills marketing agents, Johnathon Broome, Stuart Cox and Neil Cooke, said.

SJB invests again in Sydney

SJD, which develops in China and Australia, is planning 24 dwellings above street level retail.

The Northbridge site spreads 2428 square metres.

Most of the apartments will contain between three and four bedrooms.

There will also be 51 car parks and two EV charging stations in a two floor basement.

Elsewhere in Sydney, the developer is behind the 1788 Double Bay proposal. It has also completed developments – Wahroonga Gardens and Magnolia Lane at Lane Cove.
