Not for profits trade ex-Coca Cola bottling factory

The U-shaped site is set for a 200-bed aged care complex.

Not for profits have traded a former Coca Cola Amatil bottling facility, three kilometres north west of Adelaide.

Eleven offers came in from suitors seeking residential and commercial outcomes.

The 9751 square metre Thebarton site, 1-13 Light Terrace, is now set for a 200-bed aged care facility, after selling to Eldercare.

AnglicareSA was the vendor.

It acquired the U-shaped holding also exposed to Port Road from Coca Cola Amatil in 2018.

Eleven offers came in following a public marketing campaign, according to Colliers’ Rhys Newman, Justin Hazell and Jordan Schmidt.

Buyers were developers and investors considering essential services, office and residential outcomes, they added.

The result exceeded expectation by about 30 per cent, they said (continues below).

Next chapter for bottling factory

AnglicareSA chief executive Grant Reubenicht said proceeds would be redirected into other service areas.

“To transfer ownership to another not for-profit with shared community values is a fantastic outcome and ensures the site will continue to deliver positive social impact,” he added.

“This sale enables Anglicare to unlock capital and redirect resources into priority areas where demand is greatest, including housing and support for young people leaving care, and services for individuals and families escaping domestic and family violence,” according to the executive.

Eldercare chief executive Jane Pickering said the fit for purpose facility planned will support “individualised care through our best-practice model”.
