New Michael Jackson Memorial Planned For Gary, Indianna

“Everything is in the planning stages at this point, but we’re moving on a fast track and we’re looking forward to actually breaking ground sometime in 2010,” Oldie Anderson, president of the project, said.

It’s reported the developers of the golf course and theme park may build a monorail system to connect the two areas, bringing the entire project’s end value to about $1 billion, invested over a 10 year construction period.

A roller coaster, trains and rides familiar to those at Neverland Ranch, would be established at the new theme park, if it proceeds.

Project officials are also reportedly considering whether to build a replica of the Jackson family home, or have a bus tour to the home and other places the family frequented.

Michael Jackson died suddenly, aged 50, on June 25, 2009, at his Holmby Hills mansion in Los Angeles.
