NAK Hair founders flip Brisbane mansion after a year

Wallabies captain John Eales once owned the Hamilton home.

NAK Hair founders Anthony and Angela Rigney have flipped the distinctive inner north east Brisbane mansion known as Riverview Palace after almost exactly 12 months.

The Brisbane River view from a domed tower at 60 Riverview Terrace.

The hilltop home at 60 Riverview Terrace, Hamilton, traded for $6.5 million – the guide when it was listed.

They paid $5.8m.

The incoming owners plan to renovate.

Riverview Palace

On 1026 square metres, the four bedroom Riverview Palace was developed in 1901 for retail executive William Overell, connected to department stores David Jones and Waltons.

Prominent domed towers were added during a remodel in the late 1920s (continues below).

The Hamilton home sold twice in 12 months.

The top of the tallest – fitted with a 360 degree observatory – was reportedly used by United States Army personnel during World War II to monitor activity along the Brisbane River.

Ex-Wallabies captain John Eales also called the property home, selling for $1.1m in 2001.

Ray White’s Nick Roche brokered the latest deal.

Hamilton is about six kilometres from town.
