The Yarralinda Primary School and Early Learning Centre in Mooroolbark can expect to bank more than $1.05 million from the sale of a 1960 square metre portion of its campus.

The site at 4 Birchwood Drive, which is configured with a netball court and car park, is being offered with a permit to make way for low-rise townhouses.

“It’s a unique one and goes to show there’s still (development) opportunities out there for people willing to think outside the box,” First National Zenith Ringwood managing director David van den Bovenkamp told the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Leader, which first reported the listing.

The college touts itself as a member of the Applied Scholastic Network, which is licensed to use education materials based on the works of Church of Scientology founder Lafayette Ronald Hubbard.

In 2011 it was reported the school took out a loan to help fund the Church of Scientology’s $21 million refurbishment of its Melbourne headquarters, in Ascot Vale.
