Model and businesswoman Megan Gale with fiancé, ex-Carlton and Richmond footballer Shaun Hampson, has spent $805,000 for weekender Dollywood Daylesford, north west of Melbourne.

The 1940s weatherboard at 82 Central Springs Road purchased from former Geelong player Marcus Baldwin and his wife, Eloise Fox, will be both occupied and rented out, the incoming owners said.

It traded less than three weeks after being listed by Belle Property Daylesford.

As well as the real estate, the offering included the Dollywood brand, furniture artwork and website – which is set up to take bookings.

“Over the past few years we have thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful holiday rental with our little family, creating some magical memories with our kids along the way,” Ms Gale posted on Instagram this week.

“It has become a very special ‘happy place’ for us, so to be able to have the opportunity to now own it, is a true blessing” (story continues below).

In 2018 the couple was reported to have paid $3.1m for a Glen Iris home a year after selling one at 93 Clifton St in Essendon’s Aberfeldie for close to $3m.

With chef Dave Stewart, they share an interest in Moonee Ponds’ Ascot Food+Wine business.

Daylesford is about 110 kilometres, or a 90 minute drive, from the city.

Four months ago another model and businesswoman, Miranda Kerr, with husband, Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, paid QT Hotels $8.25m for Hunter Valley vineyard Loggerheads, which they had previously rented.

The Daylesford property will be used as both a getaway and investment.
The 1940s home occupies a 538 square metre block.
Megan Gale and Shaun Hampson bought the property less than three weeks after it was listed.
Vendors Marcus Baldwin and Eloise Fox paid $520,000 for Dollywood Daylesford in 2016.
