Lowe Living swoops on another site

The permitted 10 level Camberwell proposal.

Lowe Living has swooped on a the former Real Estate Institute of Victoria headquarters, in Camberwell.

The developer is speculated to be paying c$40 million for the 3807 square metre amalgamation, 335 Camberwell Road and 8 Butler Street.

It will proceed with a permitted 10 level complex with 69 dwellings and 213 car parks.

The acquisition comes 18 months after another builder, Angle, agreed to buy the properties, for c$26m.

Angle unveiled plans for the apartment replacement in February, adding it planned to start construction next year.

Lowe recently bought a Brighton site after a deal to another developer fell through.

JLL brokered the onsale.

Six months ago meanwhile, Lowe acquired the ex-Savoy reception centre in Brighton, for $23.55m after a sale to Primeland two years earlier failed to settle, for closer to $30m.
