Lloyd Williams sells luxe Melbourne penthouse
Lloyd Williams has sold a sprawling Melbourne penthouse, opposite the Shrine of Remembrance and new Anzac station, three kilometres from the CBD.
The 1.5 level apartment within the curved Domain building, a repurpose of a c1964 BP office, at 1 Albert Road, collected $17.7 million from Cambodia based businessman Kith Meng.
The result was against $20-$22m hopes when the unit – also with mountain and bay views – hit the market in March.
It is however a rise on the $3.5m Mr Williams, the owner of seven Melbourne Cup winners, paid in early 2000, to use as a permanent residence.

Including balconies, the floor area of the Albert St penthouse spreads 1280 sqm – or nearly 140 square – with five bedrooms, the main with a retreat and two walk-in-wardrobes.
With four bathrooms too, the apartment has been opulently upkept with marble floors, wood paneled walls and timber cabinetry.
There are also five car parks.
Residents also have exclusive access to a gym, pool, steam room and guest lounge
Kay & Burton’s Gerald Delany and Tim Blackett were the agents.
