Kool Beanz partners with AFL club for maiden Victorian childcare centre
Kool Beanz and Western Bulldogs will trade from a childcare centre at Footscray Hospital, due to open late this year.
The partnership has leased a 90-place space – level 4, 1 Tiernan Square, to support staff and the public.
The initial lease term is 15 years with two five year options.
A Western Bulldogs themed-facility is planned.
“This is Kool Beanz’s first location in Victoria…expected to create nearly 30 jobs and meet the growing needs of the local community” CBRE leasing agent, Sandro Peluso, said.
“The rooftop centre will feature specialised places including an art room, library and dedicated Lego and STEM areas,” he added.
“The team received four offers during the expressions of interest campaign and the deal was ultimately secured after a competitive process,” according to the executive.
“Both CBRE and Plenary Health [the government appointed group to deliver the hospital] agreed that Western Bulldogs x Kool Beanz was the idea tenant”.
Kool Beanz, established 16 years ago, is Gold Coast based.
Hospital to open this year
Near the Kensington border, the Footscray facility will be Victoria’s biggest public hospital, with an end value of c$1.5 billion.
“As one of the largest health infrastructure investments in Victoria, the new hospital will feature over 500 beds, enabling care for nearly 15,000 additional patients and accommodating around 20,000 more emergency department visits annually,” Mr Peluso said.
“With over 70 per cent of the healthcare component already committed, one of the key pieces of feedback from pre-committed groups was the strong appeal of having a high-quality childcare on site to support staff,” he added.
