Kew private school lists site

The Moonbria Avenue site, expected to sell for over $2.1 million.

Private girls’ school Genazzano FJC College has listed a block abutting an access gate at its north east edge.

Genazzano bought a site from Telstra (marked) in 2013.

The 628 square metre tract, 12 Moonbria Avenue, Kew, carries $2.1-$2.3 million price hopes.

Until recently part of the c6.5 hectare college grounds, it contained a dwelling which derived an income, demolished 2019.

It is also near a convent the school just surrendered to the FJC Sisters.

Marshall & White’s Desiree Wakim and Chelsea Mitchell are the agents. The property is for private sale.

School reweighs portfolio

Moonbria Ave proceeds will repay debt; Genazzano has a $6.5m loan from the Catholic Education Fund (continues below).

Preshill just bought a Carlton site (marked) after selling a Kew campus.

The listing comes 13 years since the college paid Telstra $1.5m for an ex-telephone exchange on 534 sqm on Cotham Rd – a school spokesperson said, to build more tennis courts.

Late last year we reported Preshill sold the balance of its Kew campus to the neighbour – Carey Baptist Grammar – for $36.3m.

It sold the first portion the year earlier for $17.6m.

Preshill also recently bought a Carlton ex-piano factory to repurpose for a campus.
