Icon Foods pays $6.5m for Milperra factory

The factory includes 2169 sqm of area – including a cool room which is not yet permitted – and sits on a 4010 square metre site.

Protein drinks maker Icon Foods has paid $6.5 million for a factory in Milperra, 12 kilometres west of its St Peters headquarters.

The 4010 square metre site with an enclosed awning at 9 Sheridan Close will be occupied as a milk processing plant.

It previously output red meat and poultry.

Council is yet to approve a cool room which forms part of the 2169 sqm internal area – but including that, the price reflects a building rate per sqm of $2997.

KordaMentha, as receiver and manager, appointed LJ Hooker Commercial Jon Osborn who closed an expressions campaign on February 28.

The factory has rear frontage, but not a crossover, to the busy Milperra Road where it is opposite a Bunnings and Bankstown Airport and adjacent to a McDonald’s restaurant.

It is also a few minutes drive to two M5 Motorway access points: Henry Lawson Drive and The River Road.

Milperra is about 24kms west of Sydney’s CBD.

The property has rear street frontage, but not a crossover, to Milperra Road.
