Health giant leases ex-Bauer HQ
Monash Health has leased the 2000 square metre Oakleigh office occupied for most of the last three decades as Bauer Media Group’s Australian headquarters.
The medical giant is intending to move into 73-75 Atherton Road next month, after the landlord installs new lifts.
The area was offered with the publisher’s fit-out, though the incoming tenant will revamp it.
Chris McKenzie and Elise Betts of Crabtrees, the leasing agency, which is headquartered up the road, brokered the 10 year deal.
Long commitment
The quaint Oakleigh commercial centre, which includes Eaton Mall, is about two kilometres south east of Chadstone Shopping Centre and 14km, the same direction, from the CBD (story continues below).
It is also about four kilometres west of Clayton, where Monash is headquartered and it is completing the Victorian Heart Hospital, the first clinic of its type in Australia.
The Atherton Rd tenancy came up after parts of Australia’s Bauer operation was taken over by Sydney-based Are Media following the 2020 sale of Pacific Magazines, AP Magazines and Australian Consolidated Press assets.
Titles traded as part of that deal included Australian Women’s Weekly, Cleo, Dolly, Rolling Stone Australia and Women’s Day.
