GPT May be Close to Appointing New CEO
Former GPT chief executive Nic Lyons resigned from the position in October last year, soon after issuing a $1.6 billion capital raising. The company’s former chief operating officer Michael O’Brien has filled the role temporarily.
Mr Cameron resigned from St George late last year, after the bank merged with Westpac Banking Corporation. Prior to St George, Mr Cameron worked at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
GPT must refinance $2.1 billion in loans by the middle of next year. The company is selling the Floreat Forum shopping centre in Perth, and Ayers Rock Resort in Alice Springs.
The fund manager and developer also owns the Melbourne Central complex in the Melbourne CBD, and Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s west.
