Government sells five town centre sites

Development WA is banking over $6 million from the five parcels.

Development WA has sold five small town centre sites, all up covering 1.07 hectares, part of the Wellard housing estate, south of Perth.

Four are trading to Yaran Property Group for a total $5.22 million.

Two and three level walk-up apartment complexes ae planned.

The last parcel, Lot 814, sold to JCP Developments WA, which plans to start building a 92-place childcare centre this quarter.

The speculated price is over $800,000.

Wellard is about 38 kilometres from Perth’s CBD.

Apartments, childcare centre planned

All facing Charing Cross, opposite Wellard train station and near Woolworth anchored Wellard Square Shopping Centre, the Wellard sites are zoned Neighbourhood Centre R80, allowing office, retail and residential.

Community facilities could be considered too, Cushman & Wakefield’s Ben Younger, who represented the government with Zaahen Kahn, said.

They range between 1848-2443sqm.
