Gai Waterhouse lists Sydney apartment
Horse trainer Gai Waterhouse is selling an inner east Sydney apartment held by the family 47 years.
The first floor renovated two bedroom unit at 5/2A Wentworth Street, Point Piper, is expected collect about $2 million.
Purchased by her parents, Tommy and Valerie Smith, near their family home, as a base for their daughter after a London modelling stint, it has in recent years been retained as an investment – last asking $890 per week 17 months ago.
Vacant for the campaign, it has been furnished by the respected racing identity, including with a portrait painted for the Anh’s Brush with Fame series, and the 2013 Melbourne Cup for Fiorente.
The horse trainer largely lived in Mosman’s exclusive Burrawong Avenue since since marrying Robbie Waterhouse in 1980.
With that dwelling sold eight years ago, the pair now use Balmoral Beach – a pocket of that suburb – as a Sydney base (story continues below).
The couple also bought a Southern Highlands estate four years ago and hold an apartment in Melbourne’s CBD, on Spring St.
Bradfield BadgerFox’s Bob Guth is marketing the first floor Wentworth St unit.
With a balcony connecting the master bedroom and the living room- the latter which captures harbour views – the agent said “it has great karma…everyone who comes here feels good”.
Also with an eat-in kitchen and undercover car park, it goes to auction on September 3.
