Edzell House Toorak on the Market

Heritage-listed Edzell House, a 107-year-old mansion at 76 St Georges Road, has been listed for sale by architect Michael Spivakovsky, who inherited the 30-plus-room mansion from his parents, including his acclaimed pianist father Jascha.

Although the mansion has been split into seven huge apartments, Edzell House retains many of its original features including rich timber panelling and delicate leadlighting.

Jellis Craig selling agent Jenny Gillies says the mansion could be restored back to its former glory, as many grand rooms such as the dining and music room are still intact.

The tower has 360-degree views of the CBD, Port Phillip Bay, Macedon Ranges and the Dandenongs, she says.

A recently subdivided 1000-square-metre slice of Edzell’s back yard, with permits for a five-bedroom riverside home, will also be sold with Edzell House. In total the block measures just over 6000 square metres.

Jellis Craig is marketing the home via an expression of interest campaign, which closes on Friday September 12.
