Dore sells Stanmore’s Salisbury

Ged Dore and his wife Trish Larkin have sold Stanmore’s Salisbury Hotel after nearly a decade.

The pair are banking $17 million for the freehold going concern; Matthew Sweeney, owner of Narooma’s O’Brien’s Hotel, is the buyer.

The recently refurbished c1889 triple storey pub contains several dining rooms and conference rooms, a gaming room with 15 electronic gambling machines, bistro with beer garden and bottle shop.

Also with 20 guest suites, it returns over $95,000 a week.

“It’s been an amazing journey rebuilding a beautiful classic community hotel that represents the whole community,” Mr Dore said.

“With, as always, a touch of sadness we wave her goodbye…happy it has landed in the hands of someone who appreciates her and the community,” he added (story continues below).

Settlement is scheduled in December.

JLL’s Kate MacDonald and Ben McDonald represented Mr Dore and Ms Larkin who acquired a half interest in 2015 then bought the balance three years later.

Mr Sweeney established his first major pub, the Eveleigh Hotel, 13 years ago.
