Doma seals Canberra, Newcastle office lease deals

The National Circuit office contains 4500 square metres over six floors.

Canberra based developer and investor Doma Property, which turned 50 last year, has sealed four office lease deals.

In Newcastle, the group has committed Adecco, Ausgrid and Medilogic to an eight level building under construction at 42 Honeysuckle Drive (pictured, top).

With the agreements, the 5830 square metre A-grade asset – the city’s first mass timber commercial workspace – is full.

Beside a Little National Hotel (Doma’s boutique hospitality brand), part of the Honeysuckle precinct, the property is aiming to be one of the only in Australia with a 6-star Green Star rating.

Its NABERs score is 5.5.

On 7150 sqm, there are also 174 car parks.

“The fully electric building has attracted tenants not only for its cutting-edge sustainability credentials, which align with their ESG goals, but also the premium amenity of the surrounding area,” a spokesperson for the developer said.

“Demand for new, high quality office space remains strong in Newcastle with net absorption averaging over 7000 sqm per annum post-COVID, according to Property Council of Australia data,” they added.

Colliers’ Peter Macadam was the leasing agent (story continues below).

Meanwhile Doma has secured Navantia Australia to the third floor – about 750 sqm – of a recently completed office at 23 National Circuit, in the ACT’s Barton.

Over six levels, that asset contains c4500 sqm, rated A-grade and 50 basement car parks.

It also forms part of a project – the Hotel Realm precinct – with a Little National Hotel, and is constructed with renewable timber, aiming for a 6-star Green Star and 5.5-star NABERs score.

Colliers’ Aaron Bruce is the leasing agent.

NB Property Consulting’s Natha Blue acted for the tenant.
