DFO South Wharf, Melbourne, to Open October 15

The South Wharf shopping complex will also include a 33,000 square metre home maker centre, which is 80 per cent leased, according to The Age, to tenants including Forty Winks, Good Guys, House, JB Hi Fi, Nick Scali Furniture and Provincial.

JB Hi Fi chief executive Richard Uechtritz told The Age “There’s not a close home maker centre anywhere around the city and the inner suburbs…it’s [South Wharf] a one stop shop for that.”

A dining precinct is expected to open within South Wharf early next year, along with a boutique cinema.

Austexx managing director Frank De Rango said “Stores will slowly roll out their own refits and Austexx will ultimately upgrade and refit the entire Spencer Street building.”

Austexx has been managing the retail and office leasing within South Wharf.

A Hilton Hotel recently opened within the South Wharf complex, while a major office building – also part of the development – has attracted major tenants including most recently Kraft.
