Décor consolidates from two sides of town
Décor will consolidate an office and distribution centre at opposite ends of town to a single Dandenong South base.
The plastics homewares distributor has pre-committed to a 15,489 square metre facility under construction at the Rubix Connect estate for an initial 10 years.
Eight per cent – 1245 sqm – will be configured as A-grade offices, and occupied as a headquarters.
The balance will contain a 13.7 metre clearance, accessed via four loading docks and six on-grade roller doors.
The tenancy also includes 97 car parks.
Rents haven’t been disclosed however, sources speculate, would circle c$110 per sqm, per annum, pre-incentives.
CBRE’s David Aiello brokered the deal for Frasers Property Industrial.
Decor is presently headquartered in Dandenong South while its distribution centre is at Somerton.

FPI will now develop the Décor complex, and another building – all up 41,695 sqm (story continues below).
Completion is due in 2023.
The deal comes almost exactly two years since the landlord announced its first Rubix pre-commitment, to Ozito, for 18,000 sqm – 10pc which will be offices.
That occupier also rented 97 car parks.
FPI later secured Zenexus, for 15,000 sqm and efm Logistics (15,580 sqm).
Earlier this year, it committed Nolan Group for a 7961 sqm office/warehouse, which will share the same roofline with efm.
Nolan will relocate from nearby Dingley South.
“What’s particularly interesting is that four of our five new Rubix Connect customers will be relocating their head offices,” FPI general manager, Andrew Hanna, said.
The developer paid $80m for the 41.3 hectare parcel making way for the estate in April, 2019.
