CDC Property Consultancy merges with US-based Nova Group GBC
CDC Property Consultancy has merged with Minneapolis-based Nova Group GBC, adding environmental advisory capabilities to a business to date focused on technical assessments.
The move reunites technical and environmental risk consulting under one platform for CDC managing director Bruce Corrin, a chartered surveyor with over 30 years experience across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Mr Corrin co-owned SGA Property Consultancy, which had seven international offices before its sale to KPMG Australia in 2014.
He then spent seven years as a partner within the merged KPMG SGA business.
The Nova Group GBC merger positions CDC, which was established in 2022, as a provider of both technical due diligence (TDD) and environmental due diligence (EDD) services, bringing together building, engineering, environmental and sustainability advisory functions that are often commissioned separately during commercial property acquisitions and asset management programs, the executive said.
“For myself, this is a natural evolution and a full-circle ‘SGA Mk II’ moment as, for those that remember my old business SGA Property Consultancy, we held this unique status too,” Mr Corrin added.
Nova Group GBC provides risk management consultancy across all areas of areas of environmental, structural, engineering, energy, climate and sustainability sectors, representing all stakeholders.

CDC expands into EDD
Environmental due diligence is a common component of institutional property transactions, by various interests including investors, lenders and regulators; it assesses, amongst other things, contamination risk, climate resilience, sustainability performance and legacy environmental liabilities.
Mr Corrin said CDC’s brand and operations won’t change – the integration intended to provide clients with a single point of engagement for technical and environmental assessments.
New service offerings include sustainability advisory, energy assessments, asbestos and hazardous materials management, environmental site assessments and remediation, alongside geotechnical engineering and drilling services.
The business will also draw on the capabilities of Nova Group Pacific, a geotechnical and engineering consultancy with services including remediation programs, environmental compliance and long-term monitoring for development and infrastructure projects.
