Buchanan family sell two family homes to developer
Chapter Two has expanded its Mango Hill pipeline – buying two adjoining family homes on acreage from long-time local landowners Paul and Edith Buchanan.
The combined outlay for 59-61 and 63 Kinsellas Road West was $15.025 million.
Spanning a total 2.1 hectares it is the third site the developer has bought from the family.
Chapter Two’s Kinsellas Rise was completed in 2023 on land bought from the Buchanans.
In March the builder submitted plans for 116 townhouses on 17.7 ha in the suburb, at the corner of Daniel and Maryvale roads, a project branded Avela (artist’s impression, top).
Family sells out
The Buchanan family has been associated with Mango Hill for decades- the name retained locally through Danzy Buchanan Park on Kinsellas Road West (continues below).
The park is named after Danzy Buchanan, who, together with his wife Lillian, established a farming property in the area more than 40 years ago.
The largest home just sold to Chapter Two, 63 Kinsellas Rd West, on 1.22ha, collected $8m.
The sales mark another step in Mango Hill’s transition from a rural and semi-rural district into a higher-density residential precinct supported by major infrastructure investment and the nearby rail network.
Mango Hill is about 25 kilometres north of Brisbane’s CBD.
