Bettina Liano buys house opposite Como Park

Designer Bettina Liano has paid $4.5 million for a South Yarra home with 18 metres of Como Park frontage.

In tree-lined Kensington Road it includes five bedrooms – each with an ensuite – and a games zone built into a squash court.

It is speculated the businesswoman will spend $2m on a renovation and extension.

The property is near the top of the no-through road, on an elevated block also overlooking Alexandra Avenue near Herring Island and the Yarra River.

Ms Liano recently sold a family home in Malvern Rd, Armadale, for c$2.5m and a South Yarra investment, in Nicholson Street, for about $850,000.

The designer’s eponymous clothing label launched almost 20 years ago in Chapel St.

There are now eight boutiques nationally.
