AVC snares waterfront Hervey Bay bar
Australian Venue Co, it is speculated with Charter Hall, has quietly bought the freehold going concern of a popular Hervey Bay venue.
The Bayswater Bar and Grill at 569 Esplanade, Urangan (pictured, top), was offered by private investors.
On the water, it contains a bar, restaurant and gaming room with 31 electronic gambling machines.
There are also function spaces.
AVC, Charter Hall boost pub portfolios
The deal come four years since Charter Hall with Endeavour teamed – one to buy the freehold, the other, the leasehold – to buy Sydney’s Terrey Hills Tavern.
In April, the asset manager, its Retail REIT and Hostplus, outlaid $780m for ASX-listed Hotel Property Investments Group.
AVC has also been building its pub portfolio, two months ago leasing a three level venue, part of Lendlease’s Melbourne Quarter complex, in Melbourne’s Docklands.
