AVC rents Hotham Hotel
Australian Venue Co has leased the Hotham Hotel – considered “the heartbeat” of the alpine town.
The Great Alpine Road, Hotham Heights, property contains the Swindlers Balcony Bar and Restaurant.
It is the second regional Victorian asset secured by the group in two months; the other was the Terminus in Yarrawonga.
“We are very interested in assets that have a strong exposure to domestic tourism and proud to be able to take over the operations of such an important venue on the Mount Hotham ski fields,” chief executive officer Paul Waterson said.
“Victoria is a significant market for Australian Venue Co and while the majority of our venues are currently in metro areas, we will continue to invest in tourist-friendly locations…they are a logical progression as we grow,” according to the executive (story continues below).
AVC manages over 170 venues in Australia and New Zealand.
In late March the hospitality group took over the leasehold for Fitzroy bar Bimbo.
It also recently opened a space at Brunswick’s Sarah Sands Hotel.
