Bunnings upgrades, upsizes in Melbourne’s south east

The Bunnings distribution centre will be extended 12,400 square metres.

Bunnings has renewed and extended its distribution centre tenancy agreement at a Salta estate south east of Melbourne.

Following the deal, the hardware giant will occupy 52,000 square metres at Dandenong South’s Nexus estate.

The landlord will build out another 12,400 sqm, a design penned by Watson Young with an expanded cross-docking system.

A recreation space will be added while existing offices will be improved as will ESG (environmental, social, and governance) credentials.

The deal comes 11 years since Bunnings last renewed its lease at Nexus.

Other occupiers include Martin Brower, Schneider Electrics, Silk Contract Logistics and Woolworths.

Walkinshaw Automotive Group is also committed at the estate for a 50,000 sqm-plus tenancy set to open this year.

Five years ago, Bunnings upgraded its headquarters to a swank office developed speculatively by Growthpoint, part of the Botanicca Corporate Park, in inner east Burnley.
