Steven Shoobridge buys another Queensland pub

Steven Shoobridge’s Star Group has quietly bought another Queensland pub.
The freehold going concern to the Parkhurst Tavern, nine kilometres north of Rockhampton’s CBD, is costing $24 million.
O’Hara Hotel Group was the vendor.
Led by Sean and Dan O’Hara, it paid long-time operator Terry Morrow a speculated $20m in 2023.
Some minor improvements were made to make the venue more family-friendly, including providing a courtesy bus, HTL Property’s Glenn Price and Andrew Jolliffe, who brokered the off-market deal, said.
Parkhurst Tavern
Parkhurst Tavern occupies 6700 square metres at 800 Yaamba Road, Parkhurst, adjacent to a Woolworths anchored shopping centre.
The hotel derives income from a bar and gaming room with 36 electronic gambling machines.
It is permitted for six more EGMs, the agents said.

The venue also has a 4am liquor licence.
The deal come six months since we reported Star, Queensland’s biggest independently owned and operated pub and liquor retail group, bought the Rydges Mackay and adjoining Mackay Shopping Centre, from Richard Pegum and Geordie Clark.
In 2023 meanwhile, Mr Shoobridge acquired Mackay’s Grove Hotel and the Aspley, in Brisbane, for a total c$28m.
Also today we are reporting Singapore-based Fragrance Group is buying a long-vacant Hobart CBD pub.
