Tesla leases prominent regional showroom

Tesla has leased a former Isuzu showroom (outlined).

Tesla has expanded in New South Wales, leasing a prominent ex-Isuzu showroom, at Newcastle West.

The Newcastle West property, last occupied by Isuzu.

The NYSE-listed EV producer, co-founded by chief executive officer Elon Musk, will soon trade from 23 Tudor Street and 214 Parry, a 1355 square metre parcel near the Pacific Highway (known as Hunter St as it passes this pocket), less than a kilometre from the CBD.

Zeekr has been leasing sites since launching in Australia October.

About 240 sqm of internal space will display new cars and contain offices.

A Mahindra EV to be imported by Lansvale which just rented an Australian showroom.

More vehicles will be displayed across 743 sqm of hardstand, of which another portion will contain a 17-bay customer and staff car park.

A 373 sqm warehouse meanwhile will accommodate a six bay maintenance and service centre.

Commercial Collective’s Adam Lacy marketed the site, passed by 17,400 vehicles a day.

The deal comes five months since we reported Zeekr leased a recently modernised showroom in Brisbane’s Slacks Creek.

Last August meanwhile, Lansvale Group, which holds a licence to sell LVD, GWB, Mahindra and MG. amongst other makes, here, committed to a property with a 1320 sqm showroom in Sydney’s Prestons.

Tesla meanwhile rented a major west Melbourne showroom to store cars mid-last year.

Tesla backs Newcastle

Tesla, which established in Australia in late 2014, also has a Sydney showroom – and outlets in the ACT, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.

Newcastle is Australia’s seventh most populated city; the Greater Newcastle area is home to about 682,000 people.
