Nor is it on tree-lined Mary or Park Streets.

]]> No – St Kilda West’s most famous house was built recently, by an ageing playboy in honour of a self-made porn star. However yesterday – in front of a crowd of voyeurs, the home failed to arouse interest from prospective purchasers.

Marshall White sales agent Marcus Chiminello said the Canterbury Road home – which features a glass mural of former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson as its facade – is expected to sell privately later this week.

Designed by architect Cassandra Fahey in 2000, the home won an Architecture Award at the Royal Australian Institute of Architect awards in Victoria, and for a period was the topic of conversation around dinner tables in Australia and around the world.

Former Geelong footballer Sam Newman built the house, but decided not to live in it – selling it in 2002 for a price believed to be about $600,000.
