Developers planning to build new offices in the city include Japanese group Daisho and ISPT, Marquette Properties and Devine.

About 30,000 square metres of Brisbane office leases are expected to be struck before the end of the third quarter.

However, Steve Urwin, a director of advisory group MPS, said a nervousness about the market in the past few months is expected to suppress rent surges. He said Brisbane’s fringe city markets could cope with many large requirements that have come onto the market recently.
