The local News Limited arm has issued a leasing requirement for between 2000 and 12,000 square metres to occupy in the medium and long term. In addition it is looking for 1000 square metres to 5000 square metres of space immediately.

News Limited - which recently announced a restructure which would involve shedding jobs - is looking around Sydney’s western suburbs as well as Chatswood and the North Shore.
]]> The company – a subsidiary of offshore based operations headed by Rupert Murdoch (pictured, above) owner occupies an approximate 20,000 square metre facility in Surry Hills which underwent a major refurbishment about ten years ago, according to the AFR which reported about News Ltd’s requirement.

Daily newspapers including the metropolitan The Daily Telegraph, and national The Australian are headquartered from this office. News leases about 6600 square metres of further space at 175 Liverpool Street but that lease expires in 2014.
