George Jelbart to Sell Hawthorn East Apartment

OLYMPIC rower George Jelbart is selling a renovated two bedroom apartment he bought while at the 2004 Athens Games.

Jelbart, who was a member of the youngest ever rowing crew in the history of the Olympic Games, can expect about $500,000 from the sale of the ground-floor Hawthorn flat at 4 Hill Street.

The apartment includes a private entrance, and video security access. It includes a north facing deck and a pebble courtyard, and is a short stroll to the suburb’s popular St James Park.

Former home of Sir Owen Dixon Subdivided, Offered For Sale

ANOTHER block of land in Hawthorn East’s ritzy Harcourt precinct has been sliced and diced.

This time, at 4 Higham Road, an estate that was formerly home to Hawthorn born chief justice of Australia Sir Owen Dixon has been split into nine blocks.

Two of the blocks measuring 615 square metres have now been listed for sale with an asking price of $1.4 million. The vendor is esteemed senior counsel John H Karkar QC.
