He told the AFR the company is in advanced discussion with office tenants.

It has been previously reported BHP Billiton might also lease space within this proposed new building. It’s new building, next door, is due to be occupied next year. PwC and Barricks Gold will also occupy space in that 45-level tower.

If approved the second tower will rise from a site once owned by coal magnate Ric Stowe, whose business collapsed in 2010.

Brookfield paid $25.3 million for the development site last October.

The company is also working with Perth0based property group Hawaiin on an office known as Bishop’s See North. That tower will include 65,000 square metres of space, and is also being marketed to potential office tenants.
