Smorgon Abandons Plans For Luxury Toorak Apartment Tower After Demolishing Historic Home

TBM’s Rodney Morley is expecting the sites, now subdivided into two lots, to sell for a total of $10 million when they go to auction at 1pm on Saturday April 17.

Mr Smorgon bulldozed the heritage mansion that was on the site prior to the marketing of Trawalla. A tennis court that adjoined the now-demolished home, has also been cleared.

Elsewhere in the blue-ribbon belt, the number of trophy homes languishing on the market is growing.

Re-advertised online recently after failing to sell in the first quarter, is 1A Martin Street, Brighton, 8 Macquarie Road in Toorak, 24 Coppin Grove in Hawthorn and Spray Farm, near Geelong.

The Toorak home of businessman Graham Smorgon has also been re-advertised as a new listing this year, after failing to sell for about $16 million last year.
