Owner occupiers trade Woodridge site
The operators of UWIN Cars have bought a site up the street.
The 5252 square metre holding, 120 Compton Road, Woodridge, cost $6.805 million following an off-market campaign.
A 2076 sqm office/warehouse covers less than half the site.
The seller, the owners of Melbourne based trophy wholesaler, Interleisure Sales, paid $2.8m in 2006.
Car yard doubles down in street
UWIN, in business over two decades, presently trades from a yard in the street at #22.
“Owner occupiers remain the most active players in this segment,” Ray White Commercial’s Lachie Hale, who brokered the deal with Jaems Balfour, said.
“With rising rents and a shortage of quality stock, businesses are making strategic purchases to secure long-term certainty,” he added.
“The seller…chose to divest the asset as part of a broader decision to relocate their Queensland operations back in Victoria,” according to the executive.
Mr Balfour said despite being promoted off-market, there was strong inquiry, including from other occupiers.
“The local buyer…saw long term value in securing a high-profile site in their own backyard,” he added.
Woodridge is about 20 kilometres south east of Brisbane’s CBD.
