Mt Evelyn Residents Oppose Controversial Woolworths Development: The Next Round

The proposal, which includes a supermarket, four specialty shops and a 325 square metre office building, was rejected by council last year. Developer Woolworths immediately appealed the decision to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal – which will listen to the council’s opposing reasons  on Tuesday.

The Mt Evelyn Environment Protection and Progress Association has written to Attorney General Rob Hulls requesting “ministerial intervention” in handling the matter.

MEEPPA vice president Clare Worsnop says the group is not confident in the VCAT process.
