Marshall White sets residential price record

One agency to which the Kay & Burton/RT Edgar rivalry means little, is Marshall White.

The Armadale-based alternative is likely to see out of the year having sold Melbourne’s most expensive home – Malvern’s Stonington.

The unrenovated Glenferrie Road property, once owned by Deakin University, traded to art dealer Rod Menzies for $18 million – about $2m over the anticipated price.

Agent Sean Cussell has since relisted Mr Menzies’ outgoing home – in Hampden Rd, Armadale (story continues below).

That Italianate mansion, surrounded by a tennis court and established garden, was formerly owned by Toll Holdings chairman Paul Little.

An auction is scheduled next year.
