Major Tweed Heads Project, Cobaki Lakes, Closer to Construction

The developer proposing the redevelopment this time around, Leda Holdings, headed by billionaire developer Bob Ell, is now expected to lodge a development application for the first stage of the project.

If approved, it’s speculated construction could start by mid 2011.

More than 30 hectares of land will be allocated as sports fields, while another 100 hectares are set aside for conservation purposes.

Mr Ell told the AFR a development code had also been approved as part of the concept plan which would help speed up development approvals through the use of 10-day approval applications.
