Lend Lease Wins Contract to Redevelop Adelaide Oval

Lend Lease today announced it has been selected as preferred proponent for construction work on the Adelaide Oval Redevelopment project.

The clients are the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA) and the Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure, with funding provided by the South Australian Government.

Baulderstone, part of Lend Lease’s Australian infrastructure business, will design and construct the new stadium that will transform Adelaide Oval into a 50,000 seat multi-purpose venue to be used primarily for cricket and Australian Rules Football (AFL).

Lend Lease Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr Steve McCann, welcomed this latest award, saying Lend Lease has extensive expertise around the world in delivering large and complex projects with major building and engineering works.

“Our capabilities are well matched to this significant state project and it will further strengthen our position in the South Australian market,” said Mr McCann.

“We look forward to working with AOSMA and the State Government to deliver this exciting new stadium.”

Construction will commence after the end of the cricket season in March 2012, with practical completion expected in 2014 in time for the AFL season.
