JLL poaches two Melbourne execs from Knight Frank

Stephen Kelly

JLL has poached two senior sales staff from Knight Frank’s Melbourne office.

Stephen Kelly and James Thorpe started work at 101 Collins Street last week, being engaged as directors of the agency’s Melbourne Sales and Investments division.

Last year we reported that the pair sold a low rise warehouse in William Street, Balaclava, for $9.05 million – setting a record rate per square metre of land of nearly $9000.

The agents also set record breaking deals in South Yarra and South Melbourne late last year.

Mr Kelly brokered the $122 million off-market deal of 383 La Trobe Street – which Mirvac acquired of Sterling Global last September – as we reported here.

The appointments bolster the number in JLL’s Sales and Investments team to 11 including an Asian Services division, headed by Mingxuan Li, who moved from Savills in July.

“We have a vision to provide the highest possible level of service to our clients, delivering true value to the market,” Mr Kelly said.

“To have the backing of a major global brand and the flexibility to offer a service that is tailored to our clients’ needs is something we think will deliver a point of difference in the market”.
