Japan’s Sumitomo Forestry Buys Half Share of Henley Homes

A HALF share of Australia’s fourth largest home builder – Henley Homes – has traded to Japanese industrial business Sumitomo Forestry for an undisclosed sum

Henley sold 1,771 houses last financial year and is forecast to make about $490 million in sales for this one.

The 20-year old local company has built around 40,000 dwellings.

Managing director Peter Hayes said there is a strong possibility the company would expand into Western Australia following the Sumitomo deal.
