Health Group Pays $17.1 Million For Hawthorn Office

Engineering group Golder Associates listed the building for sale after agreeing to lease space at the Botanicca Business Park, in Swan Street, Richmond.

Golder is reported to have paid the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry $12 million, for the Hawthorn office in about 2003.

When 50 Burwood Road hit the market, it was speculated its location, next to a train station and in a blue ribbon pocket, would have seen it wind up in the hands of a residential developer, keen to exploit Melbourne @ 5 Million strategies and propose something higher density.

Last September, developer Caydon announced it would build apartments at a site it purchased for about $12 million nearby.

The vendor of that site, Mirvac, sold 291 – 311 Burwood Road with a permit for an office redevelopment.
