GSK sells portion of Boronia HQ

GlaxoSmithKline has sold a 7.32 hectare tract behind its long-time Boronia headquarters, in Melbourne’s east.

For the deal to conclude, it now needs permission to subdivide the plot from its prominent manufacturing facility (1061 Mountain Highway) which it will retain.

The asset just sold has frontage to Colchester Street and Kalman Drive.

It is about 29 kilometres from town, near The Basin, at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges.

The Boronia land carried a guide of $7.5-$8 million when it was listed last October.

GSK recently leased inner-city offices at Johnston Street, Abbotsford, instead of building new in the outer suburb.
