Frasers Property Australia secures Phoenix Transport at Berrinba

National logistics provider Phoenix Transport has signed a 10-year lease for a 9,999 square metre industrial facility in the South West 1 Industrial Estate in Berrinba (pictured, outlined, top), about 23 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD.

The complex will include a 345 square metre office and 35 car spaces.

“The Brisbane industrial market is performing well for prime sites that have access to major transport links such as the M1 and Logan Motorway,” FPA’s general manager Commercial and Industrial, Queensland, Troy Whalan said. “This year we have received strong enquiry from several third-party logistics suppliers seeking bespoke, highly sustainable facilities”.

“We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Phoenix Transport after successfully relocating their head office in 2016 to Fraser Property’s 6-star Green Star Horsley Drive Business Park in Sydney”.

Established in 1993, Phoenix Transport controls 150 vehicles in Sydney and Brisbane.

It will relocate to the new facility 43-61 Kellar Street, Berrinba, from Crestmead.

“Our Queensland transport arm is rapidly expanding and has outgrown our current site,” Phoenix Transport’s state manager, Gavin McAnulty, said. “We needed to consolidate our operations to create better operational efficiencies and open up more opportunities in 3PL”,

“The new warehouse is targeting a 5-star Green Star Design and As Built rating which will generate significant cost savings for the company,” Mr McAnulty said. “Greater business efficiencies have already been achieved by Phoenix Transport from energy and water perspectives following the move into Horsley Drive Business Park”.

South West 1 Industrial Estate, on Browns Plains Road, was created by Logan City Council to draw investment and jobs to the municipality. It is zoned for mixed use redevelopment.

Companies based at South West 1 include Avery Dennison, DHL, PACCAR Australia, National Tiles, Sigma Healthcare and CTI Logistics.

The estate (outlined) is about 23 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD.
